Sophomore, Alana Hiner taking a practice swing during the last match of the year at Rolling Hills. "My favorite memory was beating USC by one at this match to tie for the section champions," said Hiner.

Senior Captain, Alina P., has participated on the PTHS Dance team for four years. Her leadership provides strong support for the rest of her teammates. Congrats PTDT for placing third at Nationals!

Burnett in the 'Burgh: Baller or Bust?

JG: Let me start off by saying there may be some bias because I am a die hard Yankees fan. With that being said, Burnett might just do okay in Pittsburgh. Not because he is a good pitcher (defintely not!) but rather because there is no pressure with the Pirates. Burnett, a head case, defecates whenever a stressful situation comes upon him. This is why in the Bronx his E.R.A. was a full run higher than his career average with other teams. The Buccos have racked up 19 straight seasons of failure and are on their way to the 20th. Burnett may do a fine job, happily majoring in the minors.

SD: While we are on the subject, I must admit I am a diehard Buccos fan. Burnett will be wholefully welcomed as the ace the Pirates have been trying to lure for several years now. I realize his E.R.A. has ballooned in the years since he won 18 games with the Jays, but going to a more relaxed environment will do wonders towards rejuvenating his career. I also think that with all the negativity surrounding the 35 year old in New York, he was not able to perform to his highest potential. In this case, take Burnett winning more than 12 games on the over/under, and I hope Yankees fans revel when he hoists the championship trophy in October.

                          Health Tip of the Week

                          Picture
Aside from the refreshing odor and delicious taste, drinking orange juice provides several benefits. It is loaded with vitamins, specifically Vitamin C, which helps to boost the immune system. An unknown benefit of this classic drink is that it is a very good astringent for oily skin. In addition, various medical studies show that orange juice can lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Drinking a glass of orange juice a day just may keep the doctor away.
